Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) have renewed their Bilateral Currency Swap Arrangement (BCSA). The agreement, signed on March 4, 2025, by Governor Perry Warjiyo and Governor Michele Bullock, will last for five years. This renewal continues the initial arrangement from December 2015.

The BCSA allows for the exchange of local currencies between the two central banks, with a maximum value of AUD10 billion, equivalent to USD6.2 billion.

This renewal underscores the ongoing financial cooperation between BI and RBA. It demonstrates both central banks’ commitment to enhancing bilateral trade and investment for economic development in Australia and Indonesia. Additionally, it aims to contribute to financial stability in both countries.
