The Bank of England is requesting reporting institutions to confirm their confidentiality permissions for the upcoming year. This request is part of an effort to streamline processes and reduce the burden on these institutions. The bank aims to publish aggregate data, even when fewer than three contributors are involved.

Institutions have several options for granting consent: they can provide prior consent for all statistical forms, consent on a form-by-form basis, or opt out and give consent case by case. They can also choose to give prior consent with exceptions for certain data points.

To submit preferences, institutions must log in to the BEEDS portal and complete a survey. A separate survey is required for each entity if a group completes returns for multiple entities. Key firm information will be prepopulated to simplify the process.

For any changes to submitted returns, firms should follow the resubmission process outlined in the BEEDS portal user guide. The latest version submitted will be considered final.

If indefinite consent was previously given, there is no need to update it unless changes are desired. Permissions cover data publication from January 2026 to December 2026 and apply to any future resubmissions or late submissions within these periods.

The deadline for submitting preferences is 5 pm on Friday, December 19, 2025.
