Novy Urengoy, a city in Russia’s Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, is marking its 50th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the Bank of Russia will issue a three-ruble silver coin on July 7, 2025. The coin is part of the Cities series and carries the catalogue number 5111-0523.

The commemorative coin has a fine metal content of 31.1 grams and a fineness of 925/1,000. It measures 39.0 mm in diameter and features relief rims on both sides. The obverse side displays the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation with inscriptions including “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) and “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA). Additional details include the denomination “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 RUBLES), the year “2025 г.” (2025), chemical symbols from Mendeleev’s Periodic Table, fineness details, the Saint Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.

On the reverse side, there is an image of a stele set against drilling works with a drilling rig in the background. This side also features laser-treated matte finishes and includes the inscription “50 ЛЕТ” (50 YEARS) along with national ornamentation around its circumference.

The edge of this proof-quality coin is corrugated, and it has a mintage limit of 3,000 pieces. As legal tender in Russia, it must be accepted for all payments at face value without restrictions.
