SensorTower has recognized Binance as the best cryptocurrency app of 2024, highlighting its 225 million downloads and a 4.8-star rating. The announcement was made on their website on February 17.

According to SensorTower, the awards recognize top-performing apps across various categories based on metrics such as downloads, revenue, and user engagement. These rankings are derived from SensorTower’s data analytics, which track app performance across global markets. Binance’s recognition as the best cryptocurrency app reflects its sustained leadership in user adoption, retention, and overall market presence within the fintech and crypto sectors.

Cryptoslate reports that in 2024, Binance processed approximately $7.35 trillion in spot trading volume, securing 39% of the total market share among centralized cryptocurrency exchanges. This marked a significant rebound from the previous year, driven by renewed investor interest and a surge in Bitcoin prices.

Founded in 2017 by Changpeng Zhao, Binance has grown into the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. According to their website, since November 2023, CEO Richard Teng has focused on strengthening regulatory compliance and securing approvals in 21 countries. Notably, Binance recently received authorization from Brazil’s Central Bank to acquire a local broker-dealer.

Sensor Tower was founded in 2013 by Alex Malafeev and Oliver Yeh. It is a San Francisco-based firm specializing in mobile app analytics and market intelligence. It provides insights on app performance, digital advertising, retail media, and audience demographics to major brands and app publishers worldwide. As of December 2024, the company employs around 322 people across North America, Europe, and Asia.
