The Bank of Russia’s Business Climate Index registered a value of 4.8 points in April, up slightly from 4.7 points in March, indicating continuous growth in economic activity. Companies provided more moderate assessments of the current business environment compared to the previous month, though they expressed improved short-term expectations. Despite a decrease, company price expectations remain elevated.

In the first quarter of 2025, business investment activity showed growth, although at a more moderate pace compared to the previous quarter and the average for 2024.

Additional insights can be found in the April issue of the information and analytical commentary titled “Monitoring of Businesses: Assessments, Expectations and Comments.”

This commentary, for the first time, features information on new questions included in the market questionnaire, which addresses challenges impeding current company activities and business expectations regarding increased labor costs. This data will continue to be published quarterly.
