Consumption in Russia increased between August and September, with most regions experiencing growth in car sales. Central Russia, the North-West, and the Far East reported higher demand for catering services, which has been linked to an uptick in tourism.

Siberia saw a faster decline in furniture production, attributed mainly to a slowdown in the housing market. The Volga Region and the Urals experienced a decrease in orders for machine building products, while Central Russia reported lower demand for railway equipment. In contrast, cargo traffic at Far Eastern seaports continued to rise, supported by increased exports to Asia. Chemical production in the Volga Region also grew, largely due to higher external demand for fertilizers.

The latest issue of the Bank of Russia’s Regional Economy report also addresses topics such as monetary conditions, credit and deposit markets, regional budgets, and the 2025 harvest.
