The Federal Reserve Board has announced it will host a conference focused on payments innovation on Tuesday, October 21. The event aims to gather stakeholders from various sectors to discuss advancements and improvements in the payments system.

“Innovation has been a constant in payments to meet the changing needs of consumers and businesses,” said Governor Christopher J. Waller. “I look forward to examining the opportunities and challenges of new technologies, bringing together ideas on how to improve the safety and efficiency of payments, and hearing from those helping to shape the future of payments.”

Panel discussions at the conference will address topics such as the merging of traditional finance with decentralized finance, new use cases for stablecoins, business models involving these digital assets, how artificial intelligence is impacting payment systems, and tokenization within financial products and services. The Payments Innovation Conference will be available for public viewing via livestream at federalreserve.gov. Further details about the event are expected to be released later.
