More businesses adopt Faster Payments System as transactions surge

By the end of the second quarter of 2025, over 2.5 million companies had enabled payments through the Faster Payments System (SBP). Between April and June, customers made purchases totaling ₽2.2 trillion via SBP, which represents a 1.4 times increase compared to the previous year.

According to data from the Bank of Russia, a total of 4.6 billion transactions worth ₽24.8 trillion were processed through SBP in the second quarter of 2025. Nearly one-third of these transactions were payments for goods and services. On average, trade and service companies accept 15 million daily payments via SBP. Small businesses are particularly active in adopting this system, with one-third now using it.

Additionally, there was an increase in both the number and amount of payments received by individuals from insurers, brokers, and other legal entities, including cashback, via SBP by factors of 1.5 and 1.4 respectively.
