On April 15, 2025, Irina Petrova will retire from the Bank of Russia. Pavel Shaptala, her deputy, will take over as Head of the Bank of Russia North-Western Main Branch.

Irina Petrova has spent her entire career at the megaregulator. Over more than two decades, she has represented the Bank of Russia in various industrial regions, including the Leningrad and Kaliningrad Regions, and later in the Urals and North-West.

“‘For me and many of my colleagues, Ms Petrova is an example of a devoted professional,” said Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina. “She is always very responsive to modern demands and does not fear innovations. Many of her proposals have become the best practices. I would like to thank Ms Petrova for everything she has done for the Bank of Russia and her contribution to creating the modern image of the Bank of Russia’s regional branches and to the development of its research activities.”
