The Federal Reserve Board has unveiled the appointment of chairs and deputy chairs for the 12 Federal Reserve Banks for 2024, along with updates to the board’s website.
According to information on the Federal Reserve Board’s website, each of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks is governed by a nine-member board of directors. Annually, the Board of Governors designates one chair and one deputy chair for each bank from its Class C directors. The Federal Reserve Act mandates that the chair of a Federal Reserve Bank's board must be an individual with "tested banking experience."
As stated in a Federal Reserve Board press release, Corey Thomas has been appointed as chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, with Roger W. Crandall serving as deputy chair. Vincent Alvarez has been designated as chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, with Pat Wang as deputy chair. Anthony Ibarguen will serve as chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, with Sharmain Matlock-Turner as deputy chair. Heidi L. Gartland has been appointed as chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, with Richard Kramer serving as deputy chair. Jodie W. McLean will head up the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, with Lisa M. Hamilton acting as deputy chair. Claire Lewis Arnold and Gregory A. Haile have been designated as chair and deputy chair respectively for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
Continuing down the list, Jennifer F. Scanlon will serve as chair for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, alongside Juan Salgado who will act as deputy chair. Carolyn Chism Hardy and Lal Karsanbhai have been assigned roles at the helm of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, while Chris Hilger and Paul D. Williams will lead at Minneapolis' branch.
At Kansas City's branch, Patrick A. Dujakovich has been named chairman and Jandel Allen-Davis, M.D. will serve as deputy chair. Thomas J. Falk and Claudia Aguirre have been appointed to lead the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, while David P. White and Russell A. Childs will take up the reins at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
According to the same press release, the Board has updated its website's statistical tables to underscore the gender and race/ethnicity of Federal Reserve Bank boards of directors, as well as the sectors represented by these directors. Updates will also be made to the Federal Reserve Bank Branch boards of directors.
