On 3 June 2024, the Bank of Russia issued new silver commemorative coins as part of its Historical Events series. The coins commemorate the 100th anniversaries of the foundation of the Republics of North Ossetia—Alania and Ingushetia.
Both coins are denominated at 3 rubles, with a fine metal content of 31.1 grams and a fineness of 925/1,000. They are round in shape and measure 39.0 mm in diameter. The obverse side features a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation along with inscriptions such as "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), "3 РУБЛЯ" (3 RUBLES), "2024 г." (2024), the chemical symbol for silver, fineness, the Saint Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.
The reverse side differs for each coin:
- The coin commemorating North Ossetia—Alania features a relief image of the republic's coat of arms surrounded by stylized images of couples performing the Simd circle dance. It also has inscriptions around the circumference: "REPUBLIC OF NORTH OSSETIA—ALANIA" at the top and "100 YEARS" at the bottom.
- The coin commemorating Ingushetia displays a colored image of its flag and a relief image of its coat of arms against a backdrop featuring important cultural and historical sites treated with laser for matte finishing. Inscriptions read "REPUBLIC OF INGUSHETIA" around the top circumference and "100 YEARS" in two lines at the bottom.
Both coins have corrugated edges, are minted in proof quality, and have a mintage limited to 3,000 pieces each. They are legal tender within Russia and must be accepted for all types of payments without restriction at their face value.
