Annual inflation across Russia increased by 0.46 percentage points compared to April, reaching 8.3%. Price growth accelerated in 71 Russian regions. The North Caucasian Federal District saw the most significant acceleration, while inflation slightly slowed down in the Urals.
Food prices, particularly for fruits and vegetables, saw the most notable increases. Non-food goods prices rose at a slower pace, mainly due to a deceleration in petroleum product price rises. In 2023, these prices surged during the same period, resulting in last year’s high base effect. Among services, passenger transportation recorded the most notable price increase.
More details on inflation in each Russian region are available in the information and analytical materials published on the Bank of Russia website.
