BOJ hosts annual conference focusing on price dynamics

The Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies (IMES) of the Bank of Japan (BOJ) convened the 2024 BOJ-IMES Conference on May 27 and 28, 2024. This event marked the 29th conference since its inception in 1983 and was part of the BOJ's "Broad Perspective Review" of monetary policy.

Approximately 100 participants attended, representing central banks, international organizations, and academia. Among them were several governors of foreign central banks. The conference theme was "Price Dynamics and Monetary Policy Challenges -- Lessons Learned and Going Forward." Discussions focused on price dynamics and the impact of both conventional and unconventional policy instruments. These discussions were facilitated through speeches, paper presentations, and policy panel discussions.
