Bank of Russia issues commemorative coin dedicated to teachers

On September 12, 2024, the Bank of Russia issued a 10-ruble base metal commemorative coin titled ‘Teacher’ as part of The Man of Labour series (Catalogue No. 5714-0101).

The coin is round and measures 22.0 mm in diameter. Both the obverse and reverse sides feature a relief rim around the circumference. The edge of the coin is intermittently corrugated with alternating sections that have different numbers of ridges.

The obverse side displays inscriptions around the circumference: ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA) at the top and ‘2024’ at the bottom. Laurel and oak twigs are depicted on the left and right, respectively. In the center are the figure ‘10’ and the inscription ‘РУБЛЕЙ’ (RUBLES), indicating its face value. Inside the figure '0' is a security element featuring '10' and 'РУБ' (RUB), which are visible from various angles. The Moscow Mint trademark appears at the bottom.

The reverse side shows a relief image of a teacher standing at a blackboard next to a desk with educational essentials, along with the inscription ‘ЧЕЛОВЕК ТРУДА’ (THE MAN OF LABOUR) around the top circumference.

The mintage for this coin is set at 1 million pieces.
