On April 26, 2024, the Bank of Russia is set to release a new commemorative coin marking the 10th anniversary of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The coin, with a denomination of three rubles, is crafted from silver and weighs 31.1 grams with a fineness of 925/1,000. It measures 39.0 mm in diameter and features a round shape.
The obverse side of the coin showcases several elements: a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and inscriptions including "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), and "3 РУБЛЯ" (3 RUBLES). Additional details include the year "2024 г." (2024), chemical symbol for silver as per Mendeleev’s Periodic Table, fineness mark, Saint Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.
On the reverse side, there is a colored inscription "ЕАЭС" (EAEU) against a matte relief background. It also displays the emblem of EAEU along with semicircular ornaments representing member states and observer states Cuba and Uzbekistan. These designs are laser-treated for matte finishing. Surrounding these images are relief inscriptions "ЕВРАЗИЙСКИЙ ЭКОНОМИЧЕСКИЙ СОЮЗ" (EURASIAN ECONOMIC UNION) around the circumference and "10 ЛЕТ" (10 YEARS) at the bottom in two lines.
The edge of this commemorative coin is corrugated. It is minted in proof quality with an issuance limited to 3,000 pieces.
This new coin will be considered legal tender within Russia and must be accepted for all types of payments without restriction at its face value.
