On December 2, 2024, the Bank of Russia released a numismatic coin set in souvenir packaging. The set includes various coins: 1- and 5-copeck cupronickel plated steel coins, 10- and 50-copeck brass plated steel coins, as well as 1-, 2-, and 5-ruble nickel plated steel coins, and a 10-ruble brass plated steel coin.
The dimensions of these coins vary. The smallest is the round-shaped 1-copeck coin with a diameter of 15.5 mm. Other copeck coins measure between 17.5 mm to 19.5 mm in diameter. Ruble coins range from a diameter of 20.5 mm to the largest at 25.0 mm.
Each coin features distinct designs on its obverse and reverse sides, surrounded by a relief rim around their circumference. The edges differ; for instance, the copeck coins have smooth edges while ruble coins exhibit corrugated or intermittently corrugated edges.
The obverse side of the copeck coins displays "a relief image of Saint George the Victorious on horseback slaying a dragon with a spear" along with inscriptions such as ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), ‘2024’, and mint letters S-P (Saint Petersburg). Meanwhile, ruble coins feature "a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation" with additional inscriptions like ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) and details about their minting.
On their reverse side, copeck coins include denominations inscribed centrally alongside stylized plant branches at the bottom. Similarly, ruble denominations are inscribed with plant imagery on either side except for the unique design on the reverse side of the ten-ruble coin which incorporates security elements within its denomination figure.
These brilliant uncirculated quality coins are minted in limited numbers—35 thousand sets—and serve as legal tender within Russia without restrictions at face value.
