On December 4, 2024, the Bank of Russia introduced a new commemorative coin to mark "The Year of the Family." This 3-ruble silver coin, catalogued as No. 5111-0514, weighs 31.1 grams and has a fineness of 925/1,000. It is circular with a diameter of 39.0 mm.
The coin's obverse displays the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. Surrounding this image are inscriptions including "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), and the denomination "3 РУБЛЯ" (3 RUBLES). Additional details include the year "2024 г." (2024), the chemical symbol from Mendeleev’s Periodic Table, its fineness, the Saint Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.
On the reverse side, there is a colored depiction of the official logo for "Год семьи 2024" (The Year of the Family 2024). This is set against a specially designed pattern for the Year of the Family that has been laser treated for a matte finish. The edge of this coin is corrugated.
Minted in proof quality, only 3,000 pieces have been produced. As legal tender in Russia, it must be accepted for all types of payments at its face value without restrictions.
