Bank of Russia issues commemorative coin for Kayum Nasyri's bicentenary

On January 15, 2025, the Bank of Russia will release a commemorative coin honoring scholar and educator Kayum Nasyri. This issuance marks the 200th anniversary of his birth and is part of the Outstanding Personalities of Russia series. The coin is made of silver with a fine metal content of 15.55 grams and a fineness of 925/1,000. It has a round shape with a diameter of 33.0 mm.

The obverse side features several elements including the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, inscriptions such as 'РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ' (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) and 'БАНК РОССИИ' (BANK OF RUSSIA), along with details like the denomination '2 РУБЛЯ' (2 RUBLES), year '2025 г.' (2025), chemical symbol from Mendeleev’s Periodic Table, fineness, Saint Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.

On the reverse side, there are relief images portraying Kayum Nasyri's portrait beside a table with books set against bookshelves that have been laser treated for matte finishing. Inscriptions include ‘КАЮМ НАСЫРИ’ (KAYUM NASYRI) around the upper circumference on the right and ‘1825’ and ‘1902’ in two lines below on the right.

The edge of this proof-quality coin is corrugated. A total mintage stands at 3,000 pieces. As legal tender in Russia, it must be accepted for all payments without restrictions at its face value.
