Growth in Russian sectoral financial flows accelerates in December

In December, the amount of incoming payments processed through the Bank of Russia rose by 9.3%, marking a significant increase compared to the previous two months. Growth rates surpassed typical seasonal levels across all industry groups.

The most substantial rise was observed in investment demand industries, which saw a 20.2% increase compared to the average level of Q3 2024. This growth in December aligns with usual trends for these industries, as they often receive payments for work completed throughout the year. However, in 2024, this increase exceeded normal expectations.
