In December, annual price growth accelerated in 70 Russian regions compared to November. In other areas, inflation remained unchanged or slowed.
The prices for food products, non-food goods, and services increased at a faster rate annually in December than they did in November.
According to the Bank of Russia, "in the current situation, the high key rate makes savings more attractive and cools down excess demand. Therefore, price growth will decelerate." The bank forecasts that annual inflation across Russia will generally return to 4% in 2026.
More detailed information on inflation for each Russian region is available in the information and analytical materials published on the Bank of Russia website.
