On March 4, 2025, the Bank of Russia will release a commemorative coin in honor of Rear Admiral Alexander Mozhaisky. This coin marks the bicentenary of Mozhaisky's birth and is part of the Outstanding Personalities of Russia series.
The 2-ruble silver coin weighs 15.55 grams and has a fineness of 925/1,000. It is circular with a diameter of 33.0 mm. The obverse side displays the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation along with inscriptions such as "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), and other relevant details including its denomination, year, metal content, and mint mark.
The reverse features a portrait of Alexander Mozhaisky accompanied by technical drawings of aircraft and clouds that have been laser treated for a matte finish. It includes relief inscriptions: "А.Ф. МОЖАЙСКИЙ" (ALEXANDER MOZHAISKY) at the top around the circumference, "1825" and "1890" on the right side in two lines, and part of a quote from Mozhaisky in three lines: "Я желал быть полезным своему Отечеству..." (I wished to be of service to my Homeland...).
This proof-quality coin has a corrugated edge and a limited mintage of 3,000 pieces. It will serve as legal tender within Russia and must be accepted for all payments at face value without restrictions.
