In March 2025, the Regional Economy report noted a slowdown in consumer demand, with a particular deceleration in the non-food segment. Despite the reduced pace, price growth remained above 4% on an annualized basis.
Overall business activity experienced growth, though certain sectors faced declines in output due to logistical issues and labor shortages, among other factors.
Positive developments were observed in specific regions. Livestock farms in the Volga Region and packaging manufacturers in the South increased production, while coal production saw an uptick in Siberia and the Far East. Additionally, new hotel constructions were underway in the Southern and North Caucasian regions.
Further insights can be found in the April issue of the report "Regional Economy: Commentaries by Bank of Russia Main Branches." This latest issue highlights business and investment activities of enterprises, consumer activity, and the 2025 sowing campaign.
