Consumption increased moderately between April and May 2025, with a decline in demand for durables. Although current price growth slowed, inflation expectations remained high among households and businesses.
Business activity showed varied trends across different sectors and regions. Shipbuilders in the North-West and aircraft manufacturers in the Volga Region reported increased output. Far Eastern seaports experienced a rise in cargo traffic due to higher coal and oil transshipment. Conversely, there was a decrease in metal product output in the Urals and chemical production in Siberia.
