The Federal Reserve Board has announced the agenda for its upcoming conference on large bank capital requirements, scheduled for July 22. This event aims to gather a diverse group of academics, practitioners, and market participants to discuss key elements of the regulatory capital framework.
Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle W. Bowman stated, "The conference will allow for expert discussions on whether capital requirements are operating as intended and the interconnections between different requirements." She expressed her anticipation of hearing varied perspectives as the board considers future reforms to the capital framework.
Key topics at the conference will include panel discussions on several aspects of capital requirements such as Basel III endgame rules, stress testing frameworks, capital surcharges for large banks, and leverage requirements. The Integrated Review of the Capital Framework for Large Banks conference will be held at the Federal Reserve Board building in Washington, D.C., with a livestream available to the public.
