The European Central Bank (ECB) and Hessischer Rundfunk will host the Europa Open Air concert on August 21, 2025, at Weseler Werft in Frankfurt. The event, themed "Celebrating Europe," offers a free musical experience featuring a mix of modern and classical European music.
Christine Lagarde, President of the ECB, said, "Music, like Europe, connects us all. It knows no borders, speaks every language, and reminds us of how much richer we are for sharing our different cultures, backgrounds and perspectives."
The program includes performances by the Frankfurt Radio Symphony under the direction of Alain Altinoglu. They will perform works by composers such as Richard Strauss and Felix Mendelssohn. The event will begin with the Frankfurt Radio Big Band alongside guests Shantel and Wolfgang Haffner.
Attendees can learn more about the ECB through an interactive quiz, with winners receiving a guided tour of the ECB’s main building. Entry is free but limited to 10,000 visitors for safety reasons. Gates open at 16:00 with four entry points available.
The concert will be broadcast live online and on German television and radio. More details are available on the ECB website.
